Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Sean Newhart, Ph.D, LCPC, NCC, CCMHC
Hi, I’m Sean!
Cultivating a comfortable space and a strong therapeutic relationship is my top priority. The clients I work with come from a variety of identities, experiences, and communities that contribute to their unique personhood.
They often present to counseling after encountering a difficult transition or barrier that has impacted their overall functioning. Their needs are often personal and relational, leading to goals that are focused on personal wellness as well as enhancing their connections with others.
A little bit about me:
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and received my doctoral degree in Counselor Education from the College of William & Mary and my master’s degree in Counselor Education (Clinical Mental Health Counseling) from Clemson University.
I have worked across a variety of contexts, including batterers intervention, partial hospitalization, university counseling centers, and a clinic for couples and families. I believe the establishment of a strong therapeutic relationship is paramount to effective psychotherapy and I integrate a range of interventions based on my clients and their presenting difficulties.
