Pre-Adoption Psychological Evaluations
Pre-adoptive parents are often required to undergo a psychological evaluation as part of the adoption process.
This is most common with international adoptions, but can also occur with domestic adoptions.
We understand this may cause mixed emotions for prospective parents. You may feel anxious and even a little angry, especially if you have suffered miscarriages or failed fertility medicated cycles prior to making the decision to adopt. This step may feel like another hurdle to completing your family.
On the other hand, you may feel excited and ready to get the process underway.

Each adoption organization usually has its own set of requirements for an evaluation.
Please be sure to ask what your specific organization requires, so we can be prepared to meet those needs. We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you on your adoption journey.
Fees
Pre-adoption psychological evaluations range in cost from $200-$350 depending on the requirements of your agency.
Some evaluations can be completed in 60 minutes. Others may take 120 minutes + depending on requirements.
We do not submit to insurance for these evaluations. We will confirm costs with you once we know your agency requirements.
If you choose to continue ongoing therapy after the evaluation, we will happily use your insurance at that time.
