Communication & Boundaries
Counseling for Navigating Complex Relationships
Humans are complex creatures, and our relationships can be doubly complicated. Unfortunately, many of us have experienced a relationship where we are frequently hurt by a loved one who we love and/or need.
We want you to know that you deserve to have your needs for safety and comfort met by those in your life. When someone is unable to do that for various reasons that are unique to them, you owe it to yourself to figure out how to minimize the amount you are being hurt while maximizing the positives that person has to offer you.
During therapy, clients are able to practice healthy emotional expression and communication, which translates into better relationships outside of therapy.
You are NOT alone. We want to offer support in navigating complex relationships, one step at a time.
Some examples of complex relationships can include:
- loved ones that don’t respect our boundaries
- loved ones struggling with substance abuse
- loved ones struggling with mental illness
- estranged family members
- difficult coworkers and supervisors
If you are struggling with any of these issues, we would be glad to work with you on the development of assertiveness skills, communication, self care, and self confidence building so that you are better able to navigate that difficult relationship in your life.
